For Employers

OUR Approach

Our team of employment lawyers is trusted by employers large and small to provide practical and strategic legal advice when they need it most. Our approach is based on understanding our client’s needs and working as an extension of their team to deliver outstanding results.

What we advise on

We provide advice about the full range of employment matters, including collective bargaining, health and safety, and immigration. We regularly advise employers about: organisational change and restructuring, disciplinary processes and performance management, independent workplace investigations, reviewing employment agreements and policies, and compliance with minimum employment standards (including the Holidays Act 2003)

Collective Bargaining

Our collective bargaining experience includes advising about legal issues and bargaining strategy through to attending negotiations and acting as lead negotiator. We have productive working relationships with the unions we deal with regularly.

No employer wants to deal with employment disputes. We understand that the most effective approach to dispute resolution is resolving the dispute before it arises. We help our clients to resolve disputes by providing strategic and practical advice with a view to reaching an agreement that’s in our client’s best interest.

Sometimes dispute resolution requires litigation. We have experience successfully raising and responding to personal grievances and other disputes in the Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court, and other forums.

We know the law and make sure our clients are kept up to date as it changes. As an extension of your team, our broad experience across many important pieces of employment law means you’re armed with the expertise to handle any issue. We regularly monitor and provide advice about the following legislation: Employment Relations Act 2000, Holidays Act 2003, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, Human Rights Act 1993, Minimum Wage Act 1983, Wages Protection Act 1983, Parental Leave Employment Protection Act 1987, Privacy Act 2020, and Protected Disclosures (Protection of Whistleblowers) Act 2022.

For Employees

Personal Grievances and Disputes

We regularly raise personal grievances and disputes on behalf of our clients. We take pride in achieving outstanding outcomes for them in mediation, the Employment Relations Authority, and beyond.

We can attend meetings with your employer to ensure your voice is heard during employment processes such as disciplinary processes, independent investigations, and restructuring.

We provide expert advice about employment rights and agreements to empower our clients to make informed decisions.
