Murray has practised as a Partner in a leading national law firm in New Zealand.

Murray has a wide range of experience in several areas of the firm’s practice:

  • the oil and gas sector in Taranaki
  • residential, farm and commercial property transactions including subdivisions
  • family trusts, wills and estate planning
  • business sale and purchase transactions

Murray was born and educated in New Plymouth.  Murray completed his secondary school education at New Plymouth Boys’ High School.


Murray has particular expertise and knowledge in the legal issues arising in:

The oil and gas sector

  • service contracts for operators of petroleum permits
  • contract documents for all aspects of well drilling campaigns
  • acquisitions and disposals of oil and gas company shares and assets
  • contracts for drilling rigs, supply boats, seismic surveys, construction and fabrication
  • well-site access agreements and pipe-line easements
